Kipling Lodge is the smaller of our two main accommodation buildings (it can also be booked for day events etc).
For normal residential use it can support a maximum group of 18 young people on the floor in the main hall, aside from which there are three side-rooms, two contain 2 bunk-beds (sleeping 4 in each bedroom), one contains a single bed (sleeping 1), this side-room has a sink, and is suitable for a wheelchair user.
At the rear of the building is Kipling Glade, this is a large area that can accomodate a large number of tents, when used together with the building this creates a very flexible residential arrangement, with the combination of the building and camping area. (please note the outdoor cooking shelter close to the Scout Hut is no longer included with this building).
For residential stays the maximum sleeping capacity in the building is 28, this will not be exceeded under any circumstances due to fire safety regulations, however anyone camping outside on the glade area is not counted in this total.
The building is equipped with tables and chairs, and is heated by wall mounted electric fan heaters (no extra charge).
The kitchen is equipped with a fully certificated commercial gas cooker, and a full extraction system with gas safety interlock.
A full range of cooking equipment is provided, such as pots, pans, plates, mugs and utensils, sufficient to support 50 people, extra can be supplied upon request for larger events.
The kitchen is also equipped with a fridge, freezer and microwave.
Free Wifi is available within and around all of the buildings at Bushy Wood.
